About and Mission

The Iraqi Kurdish Youth Foundation (IKYF) was founded in Federal Republic of Germany and established in May 2018 with its Headquarters based in Erbil, the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Since then, we have been serving young people from all cultural and social background throughout Kurdistan Region and Iraq.

IKYF provides support and training for underprivileged and disengaged young people to enhance their confidence and motivation, giving them the skills to turn their lives around. We assist vulnerable young people who are not engaged in education or employment or who are at risk becoming so by providing practical and financial support. We believe that every young person should have the chance to succeed.

We aim to achieve this by posting expert staff and promoting programs tailored to local needs to provide ongoing and sustainable support. We cooperate with international organizations around the world to support vulnerable youth. Partly due to this cooperation we are able to create opportunities, encourage and empower young people in communities in Iraq and the Kurdistan region. We work in association with NGO’s, government offices and business to empower young people in Iraq and the Kurdistan region to move into education and employment.

IKYF values human rights, gender equality, environmental concerns, equal opportunities, animal rights and the culture and heritage of the region. We adhere to the principals of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
